Congrats to NKU

They finally have minimum standards for admission:

Something will be missing when classes start Monday at Northern Kentucky University - 199 potential students.

For the first time in the school's 37-year history, admission standards have replaced an open enrollment policy that welcomed anyone with a high school diploma.

Admission has been denied to 199 applicants who failed to meet NKU's new minimum standards for high school grades and college entrance exam scores.

No offense, but how dumb are the 199 rejected applicants...and how many are from Newport.

Nice comment...

Wasn't your father on the Newport School Board for 30 years?

Sorry to have to burst your bubble, but these 199 weren't stupid -- they were just white.

Mr. Fields, I have taught in the Newport school system for over 20 years now. I remember you as a student, as well as your brothers, and your snobby sister. Do you realize that the school board sets the policy that we carry out as educators? And, need I remind you, for over 30 years your father helped to set that policy as a board member. I knew both of you, and all of his children could not stand up to all the knowledge he had in his little finger. You are a joke. Those of us that knew you are not surprised by the tenor of your blog. You always were infantile, and probably always will be.

Nice comment . . . especially toward your almamater. Isn't Pop's name on the new health center at Newport HS? If Newport embarrasses you so perhaps you should ask them to remove his name from the premises.
