Pops Is Home

Pops finally made it home, and I don't mean to Newport. He died last night around 10:00.

We had a great day. Lots of laughing, lots of crying, and lots of singing. It's amazing looking back over Pops' life and seeing what the Lord has done for him.

We're still finalizing funeral arrangements, but it's going to be a grand celebration.

It was a shame that his closest friends were not informed.

It is a good thing that love survives the transition from this world to the next. Love is what this life is about. Too few of us realize that while we're laboring in the day to day chaos of earthly life. Love is eternal. Love needs no words. Love just is. Even when those around us deny it, or try to hide it, or worse, try to break it, it lives. It grows. It outlives. It is what will draw us together in the afterlife. Not anger. Not attempts to control. Not greed. Just love. Ken was loved. Unfortunately, some of those who loved him most of all in this earthly life were not allowed to attend the celebration of his life at his funeral and burial. But, truth be told, they celebrated with him on a daily basis. And he knew that. A few hours on one day meant very little in the big scheme of things. Ken is celebrated every day in the hearts of those who knew him best.
